Our Design Process

We begin the design process with a discovery call to see if we’re a good fit to work together. Afterward, an in-home consultation, phone, or zoom call is scheduled to better understand your goals and expectations. We then take the responses from our in-depth questionnaire, overall vibe you’re going for, timeline and budget to help you create the cohesive home you desire.

My husband and I purchased a new home with a family room that we absolutely love but overwhelmed us in size when it came to decorating it. We reached out to YDP for assistance on a limited budget and our expectations were truly exceeded! From the first consultation, we were impressed as Ricci suggested how to stage the set up we already have in a different manner. The flow of the room instantly changed after putting her suggestion in place. The YDP website walked us through the process with ease and asked thought provoking questions that inspired us more. Allowed me to share why the end result exceeded our expectations: 1) The room FEELS like us as each detail we shared with our designer was incorporated in the overall look. 2) Ricci kept to our budget and completed the full task on schedule. (Other businesses could learn from her.) 3) All the above was conducted virtually! We live hundreds of miles from YDP but the distance did not interfere with the process. The drapes, area rug, pillow covers, and accent furniture all arrived on schedule and fit perfectly in position. Bonus: Our family room was lacking 1 focal point for above the fireplace. We commissioned Ricci’s father to paint a one of a kind piece of artwork that would coincide with the design and he did, in record time! We can not say enough about YDP but want to encourage you to hire this company to not only meet your needs but surpass them.

I loved working with YDP. This was my first time working with a professional designer and it was a lot less stressful than I thought. It honestly was so simple, I felt like I was working with a close friend. During the process Ricci was very accommodating when it came to options, schedules, budget etc, you name it she just went with the flow. I am building my dream home this year and can't wait for Ricci to start working on a few rooms for us. If you are looking for a designer that will really work with you and form a partnership with you during the experience its Ricci. I honestly felt like I was her only client with the level of communication and attention to detail.

Ricci was great to work with and I felt that she really got who I was and was able to carry that over into the design of my dining and living room. One of the things I liked was the collaboration of working together and knowing that she wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction. I personally like to see options and she did just that. My problem was that I like too many styles and it was difficult to pull them all together but Ricci gave me options that would have looked great with anyone that I choose but it allowed me to see different pieces. I felt that the outcome is a piece of me and I couldn't be happier!

We are thrilled with the results of the recent work ydp did for us. We met with Ricci several months prior to the completion of our newly built home. We planned to have the main common spaces in our new house, and main of the bedrooms, decorated and furnished within 3 months of moving in. It was a big project and a big ask but as we discussed our goals and budget with Ricci. She devised a plan and presented us with enough options to allow us to find our style but not too many to be overwhelming. Ydp has established relationships with several companies that do window treatments, furnish, install, etc. Also, with our timeframe in mind, Ricci kept on top of us, prompting us to make the critical decisions on decor choices so that we could keep the process moving along. Ydp made the whole process much more manageable and definitely more efficient. At the end of the process we accomplished our goal and are super happy with the finished product. I give ydp my highest recommendation, and look forward to future projects working with ydp.

I can be critical and hard to please so trust me when I say I was genuinely satisfied with this service. Although initially hesitant because of my tight budget, it was worth every penny. Ricci listened and understood what I hadn't yet figured out I wanted. She brought all the pieces of me together and created a space that resonates and energizes me. Every time I walk into this space, it changes my mindset. It achieves what we set out for it to achieve. I would surely suggest YDP to anyone looking to more than spruce up their space, but spruce up their life by making little changes in their space. Very good work!
