As a collaborative interior designer, I put love into every single one of my projects. No matter how big or small the job is, it’s important to me that my clients experience and see the passion I have for this industry and their home. So February, with Valentine’s Day, the beginning hints of spring, and all the other things that inspire love, is the perfect month for me to talk a little about love. Specifically, I want to share some cute ways to show a little love through great design.
Quick Note: In this season of moving that I’m currently in, the YDP focus has pivoted to E-Design. While I still offer full-service design, my schedule is unpredictable and I want your design experience to be as positive as possible! So, E-Design is at the heart (pun intended) of all of these suggestions. ☺️
Home Office Redesign
The home office is a special place. Even if it’s just where you sit down to pay some bills, read, or work on hobbies, a space of one’s own is always a great gift. And a gift you can give to anyone – your spouse, your child, or yourself! I love office redesigns because they are often quick(er) projects, highly personalized, and easy to execute yourself with a little bit of guidance.
My E-design services make it easy for us to work together choosing art, desks, colors, curtains, and more, giving you everything you need to put the room together yourself or with the help of contractors. Treat the hard worker in your life with a little office facelift or complete redesign!
Partner with an Interior Designer
“As a designer who loves her local community, my commitment to collaboration branches out to more than clients; it goes all the way to fellow designers, and even realtors! That’s right, I love love love working with local realtors.”
-Ricci
This one is for the realtors out there. Just like me, you want to provide great service and fun perks to all of your clients. A fantastic way to show them a little love as they move into their new home is to encourage, or gift, a partnership with an interior designer. In person or via E-Design, interior designers can help take the mystery out of what to do with a new home, providing peace of mind and options where there might be stress or confusion.
Create a Vision Board
Gather your friends or plan a date night with your spouse to create a design vision board. Determine your design style, decide what mood you want to create, and take a look at some of the trends. Settle in with a glass of wine or your favorite cocktail—or a fresh glass of water, whichever you prefer—and work together to create a vision board for your home.
“Hop on a search engine like Google or head over to Pinterest and type into the search bar your décor personality as well as some of the following words to start finding examples of rooms that make you happy dance!”
-Ricci-
Dive into this project and don’t be afraid to add your dream everything; sofa, holiday decor, color palette, etc.! Not only is this just a fun activity for an evening in, but at the end of the night you’ll be well on your way to a home aesthetic you absolutely adore.
Introduce a Little Pink
When we think Valentine’s Day and romance, pink pops into our minds. And great design always has a little room for some pink 💗. I mean, pink is in our logo and a huge part of our brand, so we obviously have to include it in this list! Show a little love to yourself, family, friends, and your home through pink decor (seasonally or otherwise) or maybe even a pink room!
The easiest way to do this is with a sweet vase of pink and red flowers, and the most involved way is to redesign a room all in pink shades or with specifically curated pink accents.
A few moods created with pink:
- Femininity
- Healing
- Innocence
- Peace
- Playfulness
- Romance
