Whimsy…unexpected, unique…fun!
Whimsy is probably one of the most intimidating trends of 2022. Some of us just have that whimsical spirit that draws us to unique and sometimes wild things. For others, it’s a struggle to find something whimsical that adds a little character and charm to our room but doesn’t also make our eyes hurt (😂) or force us to question our sense of style.
It’s a delicate balance that might take a try or two to master. But I have a few whimsical items that I love to use to infuse a fun-loving spirit into almost any room.
The Perch Light Branch Pendant
This charming pendant light features angular birds sitting on a “branch.” It’s definitely unusual, but has a sort of modern-tropical feel that makes you fall in love with it. In muted, neutral colors with brass accents, the Perch Light is still refined with a little fun.
The Josephine Feather Chandelier
This one is a little wilder, but adorable! I like to imagine this in a little girl’s room, or in a bright and airy small living room with lots of other neutral pieces. The feathers make it stand out just enough, and it’s definitely destined for a more whimsical environment overall.
Whirlwind Black Round Mirror
Classy black metal swirls and a practical mirror. It’s artsy and fun, but still chic enough for entryways or above a sofa. Things like the Whirlwind Mirror are great ways to hide a little whimsy in unexpected places and add some variety of shape to the other art pieces on your walls.
Statement Chairs
Incorporating whimsy into bigger pieces of furniture is definitely a little intimidating, but a statement chair paired with a more squared and neutral sofa, is an easy solution. Pick out a chair with an unusual shape, unique details, or upholstered in bright, complementing colors! Wall Décor
Here’s where it gets a little tricky. The key to wall décor is it has to reflect your style and personality. Anything else will just fall flat to you and your guests. Wall Paper Murals
I’ve talked about these before, but they really are a fantastic way to add something unexpected, unique and eye-catching to a room. Don’t let the sometimes busy nature of whimsical rooms scare you. You can incorporate this great trend using your own personality and décor taste.
